This cozy Treehouse is idyllic. Cocooned by Redwoods, Sitka Spruce and Huckleberries. A ladder leads you to the cozy sleeping loft, where you can gaze at the stars through the two huge skylights. Just down the steps across the OUTDOOR LIVING ROOM, step into the “Shower Grotto”, inside an Old Growth Redwood Stump with a Rain Shower.
The space
Showering in the Stump Shower and sleeping under the glass ceiling are some of the highlights our guests enjoy most. Even in a winter storm the Treehouse is so cozy.
Guest access
While staying at the Treehouse you will have access to the back private three acres of forest on our property. You will find majestic ancient stumps, and redwood bridge over a seasonal creek to a meditation platform. Depending on the season there are Huckleberries, Thimble Berries and Salmon Berries growing in abundance around the forest.
The Stump House can only accommodate two people. If you arrive with additional guests, you will be asked to leave and forfeit the cost of the rental.
We will happily accommodate photographers and hair and make-up if you are getting married.

Such an amazing stay!! Loved the area and the amount of effort put in by the hosts is amazing! The super sweet dogs and loving kitty that roam around are a great added bonus too!

A lot of thought and effort went into Danny and Karl’s treehouse. Although there was no shortage of rain during our stay, the treehouse was extremely cozy and the shower remained warm and refreshing even though it is outside.
Karl was kind enough to help us with our stuff, and provide some local knowledge that is well worth taking him up on! The scenic drive to Trinidad and the food at Larrupin fit in nicely with our schedule.
This was only a short stay for us as this was a 2 night stop on our road trip, but we are already excited to plan our return so we can explore Trinidad, Eureka, and the redwoods in greater depth and in unique comfort.

The treehouse is unique, and the flow of the property is great for a relaxing time. The covered patio was outstanding with an infrared heater to keep you warm while listening to the rain. The treehouse itself is perfect for two light travelers. The loft is perfect for watching a movie or watching the rain hit the skylights. The highlight is definitely the outdoor shower. Even in December, the hot water was plentiful and refreshing in the cool Sequoia air. very fun and romantic place to stay.

What can I say, this space was absolutely amazing! Just as advertised, we were greeted by Guinness & Otis as we drove up the driveway. The outdoor space was beautiful, and the indoor space was cozy and comfortable. We stayed in mid-January, and while I was a little concerned about the rain and cold, there were plenty of blankets and heaters. Danny's recommendations for food and exploration were spot on! We explored the seaside of Trinidad the first evening (5-10m drive), and completed several hikes within the Redwoods (45-60m) the following day. Danny and Karl were so great as to make our stay extra special by setting a romantic decor once we arrived home from dinner to set the stage for my proposal (she said yes!) - Danny & Karl's treehouse oasis now has a very special place in both Madelin & my hearts. I would love to stay here again, and we're so glad we got the opportunity to!

This was our third and last stay of our honeymoon and what a perfect place it was. We were greeted by the host and pets where we learned more about the property and the space. We also got great recommendations on what to do in the area. The treehouse was amazing, we loved the house itself especially watching the rain at night from bed, the patio was cozy, and of course the outdoor shower which was a fun experience and warmer than expected! Can’t recommend this house enough!

Danny and Karl Ferguson are a construction dream team. Danny has a degree in Architecture and has designed many of Humboldt’s most enviable homes. Karl is a General Contractor and Master Builder; their creativity will inspire yours. The two of them have transformed their kid’s treehouse and Danny’s former studio, into this shangri la in the forest.
